WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? IT’S ONLY A BED SORE!

First, bed sores, decubitus uclers, or pressure ulcers…..are all the same thing and they can be horrible and painful. Pressure sores can range from red areas on the surface of the skin (Stage I) to severe tissue damage that goes deep into muscle and bone (Stage IV). These sores are hard to treat and slow to heal. Other problems, such as bone, blood, and skin infections, can develop when pressure sores do not heal properly.

BLOGSCAN - The Mysterious Disappearance of a Report Critical of Industry Funding of CME

On the Carlat Psychiatry Blog, Dr Daniel Carlat discussed the mysterious disappearance of a report by the AMA’s Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs (CEJA) which recommended the end of commercial funding of continuing medical education (CME). The report was tabled, and is now no longer available on the AMA web-site. (Although, it has not completely vanished off the webs. See the comments on Dr Carlat’s post.) Meanwhile, the AMA has posted a series of “fact sheets” from their National Task Force on CME Provider/Industry Collaboration which seem notably friendly to “collaboration” among educators and industry. U S Outsourcing Condom Manufacturing – 300 Employees Stand to Lose their jobs in Alabama

There doesnt appear to be any stimulus money going here.  This is the company who has the contract to produce the AIDS preventing condoms that are given out throughout the world.  This certainly doesnt sound like keeping jobs in the US at this location in Alabama.

Oracle Adds Some Healthcare Business Intelligence - Relsys Acquisition

To the average consumer, this may be a bit confusing here, but the purchase of this company will add to the existing suite of software from Oracle to help provide the pharmaceutical business a better look at their business models and most of all drug safety.  Oracle was in the news this week providing its first every dividend, so this goes to show the business of collecting data in data base programs is not missing any steps and is alive and well, the information needs to be stored somewhere.
