If you are on a strict budget, there is software that can help you out, EZClaim. I have used and installed this software a client locations and it does
what is says it does. It is not practice management, but rather advanced billing software. You can find a link to EZClaim under the resources area on the right hand side. There are 2 versions, one for paper billing and the Advanced version, which is what I recommend and it can also be installed over an office network. Many other systems can also connect to EZClaim.

As many have now observed, electronic medical records products on the market are clunky, fail to support the cognitive and workflow needs of clinicians, contribute to clinician cognitive overload and increased clerical work burden, and may be harming patients at a rate far higher than, say, VIOXX, which was summarily withdrawn from the market to be followed by billions of dollars of lawsuits.

The machines have already been in use in Toronto, Canada for a few months, the green machines. One comment I cant let pass is if you are a physician and havent started e-prescribing yet, these machines only take e-prescribing, just something to think about as their existence might push that envelope.

I have no clue as to whether or not this is true, but the writer discusses why he believes this will happen. You can read for yourself and form your
own opinion here, and the media will let us all know if and when something monumental as such occurs. From the retail store portion of the business plan it would make sense to compete heads up with Apple and have branded hardware available for purchase when the stores open. It would also allow for ready to go packages with hardware and software loaded and ready to carry out the door or order on the web.
