Just last week I posted about the new EHR being offered by MedPlus Care 360. In addition they are now offering a 6 month free trial of their e-prescribing solution as well. Also in the news for Quest was the FDA approval for the test to detect H1N1 Swine flu, and hopefully not too many of us will need that and stay healthy, but if we do, its there.

In today’s Roanoke Times is a heartfelt article about a young man from Roanoke, who was injured while serving in Afganastan: “19-year-old Spc. Jesse Clingenpeel of Roanoke County had always wanted to be in the military. In seconds, his dream was changed” according to the Roanoke Times.

Epic has to be the most popular large hospital software around today and the iPhone the same for cell phones. I did an interview earlier this year with Long Beach Memorial on their transition to Epic which describes the massive training efforts and attention to detail at their conversion.

Palomar is going ahead on their own to bring the anti wrinkle consumer device to market. As you can see from a prior post below, the product is a
home use patented FDA approved laser device for removing wrinkles and more. Palomar agreed that current economic conditions didnt warrant a huge product launch with the additional required revenue so they have developed their own plan that will follow launching on a smaller scale. According to the article, the product should launch some time next year. BD
