So far the system has been used only for colonoscopies and they hope to expand to other procedures. All the physicians wear wireless headsets so no wires here. The doctors speak and document as action is taking place in the operating room. Procedures are documented without every leaving the operating room. The software development was outsourced from the business partners to India with Persistent Systems. To market the product they are going up against some pretty large competition with speech recognition. BD

As everyone is probably aware, Massachusetts is the only state that has required consumers to have health insurance and has been discussed in depth many times. Their model could be a partial model for our care in the US, but there are still discrepancies and problems that live in their system too. One item addressed by Paul Levy, CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital suggests part of the problem is a lack of competition. That issue is not unique to Massachusetts as other states have some of the same issues.

How scary. You receive a call from Nurse Ratchet on the 3rd floor of the hospital because your brother fell out of the hospital bed… Or worse, fell in the bathroom and hit his head on the porcelain sink, rendering him unconscious.

Heres a prime example of a story to where the hospital admitted they did not notify the patient, so again take a look at this link below and perhaps
it may find some value. One person died with the implanted devices according to this article. We now have a class action suit with 100,000 patients over this device. The price of tagging for free is beginning to sound very affordable. In this case the doctors and hospitals were left on their own to find out. Ok so in this case and on the video, FDA says it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to notify the doctors and the hospitals with the hope they will notify patients and they say they will follow up, with what? The FDA says they dont have the patient names, so duh? What if your doctor passes away and what if your hospital closes, maybe some folks at the FDA have not read enough current events lately.
