I love my dog a lot and I guess this is a good thing but human health insurance is far more important in my book and I hope this bill didnt take up too much administrative time for the Legislature to hash over.
With some policies they have to deal with pre-existing conditions too, depending on age and when the dog or cat is enrolled.

At my post Are computers in medicine narcotic? “Why did the National Programme for IT fail?” I observed that the healthcare IT mania/bubble is being driven in part by non-clinical hysterics who believe they will somehow “revolutionize” medicine with information technology tools that are barely able to show improvements at this point in time.

Its been quite a year for Blue Cross and the news with the 39% increase they had originally planned. HHS called them back to Washington to look at their algorithms that justified the raise.

I certainly hope theres not more of these types of articles to write about but with the focus on profits and dollars today, I kind of have this feeling there will be more coming unfortunately. This is a non profit hospital that has come to blows with contracted insurance rates, something well known and discussed in the Boston area lately too. So it appears many patients will be having to make a change and at least those who are already inpatients wont be affected, and that was gracious on both sides here. In the comments some stated they were looking to change to Blue Cross and then in the news today we have this story:![]()
